Informed choice is at the top of reasons to choose a midwife. I fully believe the birthing mother should be educated on all topics and feel supported and confident in making these choices.
During grand-ma’s time, issues surrounding birth, childcare and general family health were shared through word of mouth, passed down from mothers and wise women. This remains a beautiful way to educate each new generation of young mothers. Books are abundantly available to open our minds to the challenging issues surrounding birth and often lead to the desire for further research. The internet offers unlimited access to each, and every aspect of childbirth.
I invite you to visit a few of my favorite sites. These resources are not designed to completely educate or limit your research but to “wet your whistle” toward your own research. I welcome questions and opinions and encourage you to seek your own comfort level on important issues.
